Part of our long travels was pure fun — vacation! Because my husband loves to scuba dive, we went to the Philippines! We passed through Manila on the way in and out, but most of our time was spent on Bohol island. Beautiful place!
Here are some pictures of our most favorite pastime while there – beach combing. The beach was truly beautiful and full of more sea life than I’ve ever seen in one place. The amount of starfish was staggering.

Isn’t a blog great? When friends hand you a stack of vacation pictures, don’t you wish you could just “scroll down?” LOL! I know these get a bit repetitive. But they are all so beautiful!

The evening skies were so lovely and the tide was always out at that time. Another plus — little to no risk of sunburn.

sand creations
And of course, we made many creations out of sand and shells. Our beach resort (I use that term resort loosely — in Asia it is not exactly what you might think) was on a marine sanctuary. Nothing could be taken from the beach. So we collected shells, used them to decorate our sand villages, and then let the waves carry them back each day. The rectangular shape above outlined in coral is the village’s swimming pool! The mounds behind DD are various homes. There is even a city wall around our whole creation.
