Flowers Among the Drab

The definition of beauty varies from culture to culture, but people everywhere love beauty. In the midst of gloomy surroundings, you can find efforts to bring a touch of cheer — ususally green plants or vibrant blooms.

When I see the flowers among the drab, it makes me smile. To me, it is evidence that man is made in the image of God.  God created beauty; God loves beauty.  And we, like Him, although terribly devastated by our sin nature, still have an inner longing for beauty.

May we find the desire fulfilled in His perfection.
