Once the workers found the plumbing problems, they quickly fixed the pipes and began covering everything with concrete. (It reminded me of children playing in a sandbox.) Hard to believe this is a room in our apartment.
And this is what it looks like now. We were first told it needed 48 hours to dry and be tested to make sure the pipes were fixed correctly. Then we were told two weeks. Two days, two weeks….. time is such a fluid concept in China. Trying to pin people down on exact times is an exercise in frustration. Best just to expect the worse.
It’s been five days so far. We’re just waiting for concrete to dry. Exciting.

Hi and welcome! I'm Jimmie and this is my online collage of our Charlotte Mason homeschool. Taking just a little more time to document our learning shortens the learning curve for other busy homeschool moms.

Oh, I’m sure this is a total exercise in frustration for you, but this post made me laugh! Is it as good as watching paint dry? We had a wall replastered last year and bizarrely it was actually quite interesting to watch it dry – well, pop in every few hours to see the new pattern that was developing.
God bless you!

Yipes! I think I would have to hook up fans or something to speed it along. We Americans are in such a rush aren’t we. I am glad that you have another bathroom while you wait.
Blessings,
Dawn
It’s been over two weeks that our bathroom is in this state of disaster. We are starting to get anxious, especially because it’s FIXED. We just need someone to install the tile, toilet, and shower. One day’s work and DONE. We spoke to the landlord today. She said two or three more weeks!! WHAT? She agreed to come tomorrow to look at the situation.
Wow, 2 weeks? That is quite a difference from 2 days. So I guess that means they didn’t use the quick dry concrete, eh?
Actually it IS dry now. And I was asked to pour water all over the floor to make sure that the plumbing works. That makes no sense to me whatsoever because we’re not supposed to let water go down the pipes. The plumber told me to do it and I gave him a blank look. He said, “You don’t understand?” (as in language) I replied, “I understand what you mean, but I don’t understand WHY you want me to do that. It’s not logical.” He tried to explain again, but I just don’t get it. What do I know? I’m not a plumber. So I did what he told me to do.
