When my now 22 yo dd was 11 I took her to get a "trim". It was the end of a long day, with my husband serving overseas, I was "single momming it". I had left my very hyper (albeit sweet) 4 yo dd (our homeschooler) with my SIL. Sorry, I digress; but, anyway I had a terrible headache and had my eyes closed. Our "demon" just cut away and dd either didn't realize or was to shy to speak up. She ended up with a haircut similar to what you describe. She was horrified and was in tears. To this day when I look back at snapshots during the time her hair was growing out, I feel guilty for not being more attentive. And she is VERY particular who gets their scissors on her hair!

No way!

How presumptious! I cannot believe a hair person would do such an audacious thing. I would *never* go back.

"Hairs" for quick growing locks - for both of us!

I had a haircut from someone I trusted that made me look like a man. I cried and cried. Everything my husband said made it worse. I felt so not feminine and truly ugly for the first time in my life.

It took me three years to go back to a hair salon. I let me hair grow to the middle of my back before I ever trusted anyone to cut it again. I still have trouble with trusting someone with my hair.

Yep...plenty of "not so good" hair cuts in my life time. I have stick straight hair and the stylist are always trying to make it fuller with layers. That just makes it look choppy. Even had the "mushroom" cut. Aweful!!!! Then there was the cut that made me look like a boy. I wore a hat the entire summer! Anyway I have learned to trust my gals choice of hair stylist over the years. They are usually right!
BTW your cut looks good! I know you don't like it but it really is doable till it grows out!

Dana, your comment made me laugh! You are so right about hair balancing your body. I can't imagine short hair when pregnant!! But at least you have a great excuse for all the weight. PS I gained 60 lbs total with Sprite!

I have been cutting my own hair for a long time. When I was thirteen I trimed my own bangs right before my mom took us to get our pictures taken. Usually I did fine, but this time they were very SHORT. And I have the goofy photos to prove it.

I think your fixed haircut loks great though!

When I was in college, it was rare for me to get a haircut. But when I did, I went to SuperCuts and got a non-super haircut. One time I asked for layers. When I got back to my house, my roommate looked at me and gasped "What happened to your hair?!!!" It was soooo bad. I looked like I had a mushroom hat of hair on top of my regular hair. I went back in tears asking them to "fix" it. I don't think I have ever recovered.
