Overheard in our office this week.
Sprite [looking at the computer screen]: “Look, there’s Obama playing Batman ball.”
Me: “What?”
Sprite: “Obama is playing Batman ball.”
Me: “What is Batman ball?”
Dad [who sees the picture]: “He’s playing baseball, Sprite. That’s called baseball.”
The all-American sport, huh? Yeah, well, I can see there are some gaps in our cultural experiences.

LOL! Too cute! My boys get baseball since they LOVE it. The problem comes with the whole football/rugby and soccer/football confusion. They never know what to call those three games. I guess they are never totally American when they haven’t lived there day in and day out, huh?
You are so right! Football confuses Sprite too. She always asks about the sport with the long ball.
hahahohohehehe! That is funny! It also sounds like something my boys might say– although it wouldn’t be about baseball since they love to play that outside with daddy. But similar misunderstandings have been uttered for sure, and we don’t even have the excuse of “well, that might happen if ya live in China”!

At least you have a ‘cultural’ excuse. Kei said, a couple of years ago while watching Alabama football, “Did he just score a homerun”? I decided we needed some sport lapbooks!
