Everyday Chinglish

by Jimmie on August 19, 2010

My monitor cable was on the fritz, and when I pulled down the box to find the warranty information, I spied this ultra-cute example of Chinglish.

The weather cooled off after a rainy day last week, so Sprite and I did some errands on foot. I carried my camera and got some great Chinglish shots for you.

Close to this construction site we found a small stationery shop with five bottles of white glue! That’s a real find! We bought two of them.

I think this is a cosmetic medicine clinic to help you be more beautiful. No need for that for us. We’re already “Beauty Women!”

I once got all excited because I found Elmer’s in a shop here in England!! I usually get generic pva glue here and I don’t think it works as well……..Thanks for the email! I’ll check out all the links. I thought you had meant free books from the Kindle website!!! That is what shocked me! LOL! One reason I got the kindle was because of the hundreds of ebooks on my computer that were not getting read. *sigh* Now I’m slowly freeing them from deep storage. Hehehe!

These are always so much fun to read! I find it funny that the caution signs *need* translating. That sort of misses the point of having a symbol. :-)

Sometimes I forget how blessed we are here in the U.S. Posts like this help me to stop and take the time to be thankful.

Why can’t our signs have such graphic pictures? At least I can tell what they’re talking about in China and nope, I certainly wouldn’t want those objectg falling on my head!

My kids and I always love it when you post these Chinglish signs! Our favorite this time was “Caution, Stumbling”. Who doesn’t need to watch out for stumblers :-) ? I should have a t-shirt with this printed on it!

I would love it if the Non-Sorrow Ambassador would find his way here as we’ve been having connectivity problems all day. I especially love his ‘peace’ sign!
