left to right: Jimmie, Liz, Jenn, Rachael, Jolanthe, Rachel
When I was at BEECH Retreat in Florida, I was delighted to meet Liz Corson and Rachael Carman, both from Apologia. I was especially happy to connect with them since I’ll be seeing them again in Atlanta at the Real Refreshment Retreat March 22-23, 2013.
I want to invite you to join us there!
If Atlanta is a bit far for you, there is an earlier retreat on March 8-9, 2013 in Baltimore.
At both the Atlanta and Baltimore events you will be blessed by
- seminars from homeschool moms who know what you are going through
- Christ-centered praise and worship
- panel discussions
- downtime to interact with other attendees
- one-on-one prayer with the event leaders and speakers (at your request)

2013 Real Refreshment Retreat Theme: Think On These Things
I love the theme of the Real Refreshment Retreats for 2013: Think on these things. It comes from Philippians 4:8 which was also my college alma mater’s motto “whatsoever things are true.”
whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. (ESV)
Special Real Refreshment Discount for my Readers
Get $35 off the regular ticket price by using my name, Jimmie, in the special needs space when you buy a ticket. That makes a $115 ticket cost only $80. When you register for either retreat (Atlanta here; Baltimore here), you will see the General Admission price at $115. Click on the down arrow to find the Previous Attendee Rate at $80. Even though you haven’t attended before, if you type Jimmie in the special needs field, you can still get that special rate! Here is a screenshot to make it really clear. Just email me if you have any trouble with getting that reduced rate.
Giveaways
To get you even more excited about Real Refreshment, I am holding some giveaways of Apologia resources. Please leave a comment and fill out the widget below to enter. You may gain additional entries with other actions within the widget. In your comment, please tell me which of the retreats– Atlanta or Baltimore–is closest to your own location.

Hi and welcome! I'm Jimmie and this is my online collage of our Charlotte Mason homeschool. Taking just a little more time to document our learning shortens the learning curve for other busy homeschool moms.
Feel free to browse around my posts and freebies. My aim is to bless each reader with something useful.

I sometimes really wish I lived closer to the places where these are held. One year when I’m not in the middle of moving I’m going to book myself an Atlanta vacation to coincide with this!
