This post contains affiliate links for GHC. I’m a huge fan, so we decided to funnel my excitement into a more formal arrangement where I share about their conference each month. So GHC is a sponsor of this blog, but I talk about them because I love that convention! And chili. I love chili.
I’ve been a slacker in terms of meal planning lately, but I’ve kicked my self back onto the crock-pot wagon. While selecting meals to buy for, I suddenly got a strong urge for Cincinnati chili. It’s radically different from the Mexican styled chili I normally make. But that cinnamon-cocoa memory of Skyline Chili was tantalizing me to hunt for a recipe and try my hand at it.
All day long I smelled that amazing aroma of this recipe and couldn’t wait for dinner.
Have you tried Cincinnati chili? Did you like it? If you don’t know already, it has cocoa, cinnamon, cloves, and allspice in it! I tried it for the first time at the 2013 Cincinnati Great Homeschool Convention.
I admit that the chili is calling my name, coaxing me back to Cincinnati. But besides the amazing chili, Ben Carson will be there! Ben Carson. Yes. I cannot wait to hear him speak. And I will be one of the goofy people waiting afterwards to shake his hand and get an autograph.
Plus I get to hobnob with all my favorite homeschool people and blog readers. If you are going, please be sure to connect with me. And maybe we can sit down for a cup of chili.
