Hi Jimmie,
We were reading one of our magazines here and it said that in China instead of seeing the man in the moon, people see “the hare in the moon.” Is that true?

Do you know what I mean? I was just curious if that was true.
July 20th is the 40th anniversary of man’s first visit to the moon so I’m working on pulling our resources together. I thought that was an interesting little cultural tidbit.

Yes, I’ve heard that before. True.
It has to do with a myth/legend of Chang E, a goddess. You can read about it at Mid-Autumn Festival.

Dear Jimmie,

Firstly thank you so much for your helpful website.
My family and I are moving to china in about four weeks from now. We’ll stay in Nanjing in Jiangsu province. I am confident to homeschool and feel God prepared me, I am actually excited :)
could you please put me in touch with other Christian homeschool families either in Nanjing or anywhere in China? I would greatly appreciate your help.

Kind regards
Maryna
