And now for something completely different….
I have to apologize to my dear readers. You see, I don’t like exercising, but of course, I really need to exercise. So I’ve used you. Yes, I admit it.
When I saw the opportunity to review Zaggora Hot Pants, I knew it would push me to go to Zumba class and to the park more often.
I need lots of motivation to exercise. (Obviously the scale and tightening jeans aren’t enough. Go figure. Literally.) But when you agree to writing a blog review in exchange for a free sample, well, a responsible person writes the review. So I knew that getting a pair of Hot Pants would work to make me exercise — with them on– at least for a couple of weeks.
I hope you’ll forgive me for blogging about exercise wear on this homeschool blog. I know that you are moms, just like me, and along with homeschooling you have to wash dishes, cook meals, and exercise. So I hope that you can find this review somewhat enlightening and applicable to your life. At least you can humor me for the sake of my hips and thighs because that’s exactly where Hot Pants target.
The Hot Pants
Hot Pants fall above the waist and above the knee, so that whole trouble area is covered with the thick, black fabric that is specially designed to help you lose cellulite. I think the fabric is neoprene; it reminds me a lot of a wet suit. It certainly holds in heat (thus the name Hot Pants). The sweating, targeted in the trouble zone of waist, hips, and thighs, is supposed to help you trim down and lose inches.
I wore my Hot Pants to a charity walk/run and to Zumba classes. Because I’m very modest, I wore them under sweat pants (invisible) and under gym shorts (poking out the bottom).
They are comfortable and easy to move in. True to their name, they do cause you to sweat quite a bit. No, I didn’t lose two jeans sizes in two weeks, but that’s probably because of all the pasta and fudge I ate after my exercise sessions. (This post is just full of confessions, isn’t it?)
I didn’t realize until I read the brochure in the package them that the pants are supposed to be hand washed. Something that gets as sweaty as these pants needs an in-depth cleaning. And who has time to hand wash exercise pants? After reading how to care for wet suits, I’ve decided to rinse my Hot Pants after each use and wash them on a gentle cycle without soap every so often.
Sizing Warning
Be sure to check the sizing chart. I ordered a size too large because I must have been looking at the UK sizing charts. As a result, they are too baggy. It seems they should fit snugly, and mine are decidedly loose in certain areas. They also make funny swishing noises when I move. I’m not sure if that’s the way the pants are or if that’s a result of being too large.
Package Warning
Be aware that if you buy a pair of Hot Pants, they come to your house in a vivid yellow package that has “HOT PANTS” printed on it in three inch letters.
You need to know this detail in the event that a friend, neighbor, or pastor sees your mail and brings it to your house. Be ready for utter embarrassment when that person asks you about your “HOT PANTS.” And if you happen to have a couple of friends already at your house when said person drops off your package, you might be teased mercilessly about your “HOT PANTS” for the next few weeks.
Yes, it really happened. No matter. It only serves as more motivation to get in the gym and prove to everyone what my Hot Pants are really for.
Disclosure
I received a pair of Zaggora hot pants in exchange for my honest review.

I’m not sure if you’ve sold me on the hot pants, but your experience is hilarious! Sorry! 😉

It’s meant to be hilarious, and I love you for laughing with me. It is with me, right?

hahaha! the title of your review alone caught my attention. i appreciate the warning about the packaging… oh my… talk about having some ‘splaining to do!
i can’t imagine purposefully wearing pants that make me sweaty when i am already forcing myself to exercise. okay, i can’t imagine exercising on purpose… at least not until after baby is born. for some reason, i get this crazy motivation to get up early in the morning to EXERCISE for the first couple of months after i have a baby. insanity.

haha thank you for the hilarious story. I don’t like to exercise either but I have been stepping away on my stepper from Gaiam 15 minutes here 15 minutes there…don’t think I’ll get hot pants to go with them, but then it may be fun to see just what the mail man would think of that package. 🙂

I can just imagine the comments about the Hot Pants! Hilarious.

Oh Lord. 🙂 I can just HEAR my children now if a package like that showed up at our door!! Everyone would know about it for weeks afterward….

The comments are as funny as the review! Well, since I’m living in a small town, I’m gonna have to pass on this one. Maybe you can encourage the company to develop some discreet packaging? I totally sypathize with the exercise allergy. I was doing so good until I got pregnant and haven’t been able to get back into it since the birth. I have my TTapp videos all ready to go, just can’t find my ambition (my waist seems to be disappearing too). :p How about a blog challenge? With prizes? It’s the least you can do after using us so shamelessly! 😉

LOL! That’s the best laugh I’ve had all day. Awesome.

Funny! Good luck with your exercise program, Jimmie! I now exercise 5-6 times per week, but it took me a loooong time to get into that habit. I am very grateful for having done so, though. I feel and look a lot better. 🙂

Your review is funny, and enjoyable to read, but you didn’t included in your review if you had any real results from wearing them. Did you notice a tightening in your skin, or inch loss? I am the always the first of all my family and friends to try everything….i really should start a blog myself, if it’s new, and it claims to help reduce fat, I’m in! I ordered hot pants, just to add to very long list of products tried….
