What is a militant homeschooler? I made up this term to refer to those who believe that homeschooling is the absolute only choice for educating children. Special circumstances never come into play in making educational decisions. The only answer is homeschooling. Period. And if you don’t homeschool, you are an inferior parent and a carnal Christian.
I believe what the Bible says about being free in Christ. That freedom means that we do have educational choices. God is not in a small box labeled homeschool. Consult with Him in detail about those choices and get a direct word. Then obey what He says without applying those directions to other families around you.
Grace. Freedom. Accountability to God. That’s what parenting is about. And that is why I am not a militant homeschooler.

Thank you, Jimmie. This has been running through my head for several days now, and I have really needed it the past few days as it looks like the face of our homeschool may change and support is going to be in small supply for us.
We are all just trying to do what is best for the children God gave us, and that just doesn’t look the same for every family. But we can be supportive in our end goal.

This is my first time at your site but I completely agree and I needed the reminder today… “Grace. Freedom. Accountability to God.” So thanks!
Adding this to my blog…because I totally agree…every one home schools their children because they’re either led to by God or because that is their personal choice. I have many good friends who are school teachers and they send their kids to school while they work…that works for them…and they are still Christians. So glad to be a part of this! Great thing to promote!! =)
