I was something of a slacker this year when it came to writing blog posts. I would like to think that I made up for it with quality, though.
Of course, my daughter entered high school in 2013, so there aren’t as many cute projects or printables to share as there were in elementary days. For the most part, she studies on her own now. So the blog has changed, but it’s an organic and expected change. And the high school posts are certainly popular with many readers who are also hitting this stage of education.
Have you noticed that the volume of homeschool posts decreases the closer you get to graduation?
Preschool posts are a dime a dozen. Elementary homeschool articles are also easy to find. At the middle school level, the posts start to thin out a bit, but by high school there’s practically nothing out there.
Here is a list of my top ten posts from 2013 in terms of visits, starting with the most popular. If you missed any of these, well, they are still as good as they were the day I posted them. Enjoy!

2. Homeschooling as a Work at Home Mom
3. Computer Programming Curriculum for Homeschool (a review of Kid Coder curriculum)

Our daughters are the same age. I’ve learned so much from reading your blog. Home schooling high school is so different… Thanks for the reminder about the programming curriculum, that’s what my daughter wants to start learning.

Yes, quality. I’ve enjoyed your content this year. I especially enjoy how you are sharing your homeschool through high school experience. I graduate my oldest this year, have one in 9th, and one about to enter 9th… yet, I feel inexperienced. Too inexperienced to write about it. That, and as my boys have gotten older, they don’t want to be on the blog as much. And with 3 younger ones, yes! it is much easier (and more fun to be honest) to blog about what we are doing. When my younger three are high school age, I think I will feel more confident to share our experience.
P.S. Enjoying your posts on G+!

yes, I have noticed a change in my blogging since we’ve reached all 4 in highschool or beyond. I appreciated reading your little intro here as it has encouraged me to keep going with the highschool posts – for some reason I was feeling a little unsure and thrown about the change I see going on. Thank you for all you do blog about – you are one of the ‘go to’ links that I share with people when they ask about homeschooling.
